Earlier this year, I found out about a community market event happening at our local bouldering gym. I used to climb before kids, so I was really excited to be back in that territory, even if I wasn’t hopping on the wall myself.
The thought occurred to me to try to make something geared towards climbing. Duh, chalk bags! The crocheted part was easy, but I had to figure out how to make the drawstring functional. I also had to get my old sewing machine out, but I did it.
I brought two chalk bags with me to the market that day, and I sold THREE.
Since then, they’ve been a popular item. They do take a while to make, so they are priced pretty high. Some people have asked me for the pattern, though, and I decided to type it out and offer it online.
If you can crochet and sew, purchase the pattern here on my Etsy to make one of your own! Many people have given these as gifts to fellow climbers.
